Loudonville, NY– The Merrimack College women’s volleyball team swept the Siena Saints in three sets on Saturday October 19. This would be the Warriors third consecutive sweep.

How It Happened
The Warriors took the early lead in the first set, going up 5-1. Siena would respond with three straight points to tighten the gap by one. Both teams then traded points throughout the middle of the set until Merrimack caught another break with a slew of kills delivered by Mckenna Shotwell and Hannah Webber. The Saints remained persistent, posting a four streak run to get back in the game. The Warriors continued to show perseverance with a 4-1 run coming late in the end of the set to finish it off, 25-23. The Warriors continued to dominate in the second set with a 9-1 run to secure a 12-5 advantage over the Saints. The Saints tried to get things moving but ultimately couldn’t get past the Warriors lineup, as the Warriors won the second set 25-16. Looking to capture their third consecutive sweep, Merrimack entered the third set with a 6-1 lead. Julz Carlat helped keep things moving for the Warriors, delivering two kills mid set to double their lead. The tandem efforts of Julz Carlat and Lily Konrad topped it all off to secure the third set victory, 25-17.
