The VNL, which debuted in 2018, has seen a consistent rise in popularity, with the 2023 edition witnessing a 48% increase in global audience. Notably, the 2024 edition will see no relegation, and new teams will join based on the 2024 Volleyball Challenger Cup outcome and world rankings. A streamlined competition schedule will reduce match days, offering fans more matches and players an additional rest week. The restructured competition will feature 18 teams divided into three groups, leading to a Final 8 direct elimination phase.
