How it Happened

1st Set
• Hopkins wasted zero time asserting themselves in Sunday’s championship game, jumping out to a 7-2 lead in set number one. Kills from Lauren Anthony and Sydney Portale along with a duo block from Simone Bliss and Eleni Panagopoulos quickly made it 4-1 in favor of the Jays. Bliss added another kill and an ace as the Jays extended the lead to 7-2.

• Panagopoulos, Bliss and Portale had kills for the Jays as they jumped ahead 8-5 before Haverford answered with a 4-0 run.

• That’s when the next run started for Hopkins as they took the next five points, getting two kills from Norman, one from Panagopoulos and a pair of aces for Sarah Khan. Now leading 13-9, Haverford made it 13-11 with a pair of kills from Dina Kosyagin, but it was another 6-0 run for Hopkins on the backend.
