Men’s Volleyball Falls to Eastern

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.- The Immaculata men’s volleyball team dropped their season opening match Wednesday night to Eastern University by a score of 3-0.

Garrett Pepper led the Macs offensively with four kills and three service aces. John Bohrer and John Carter each had five digs and Joe Martell had eight assists for Immaculata.

In the first set Immaculata was holding in the set. The Eagles used an eight-point run to open a 19-7 lead. Eastern would take the first set 25-11.

In set two, Eastern quickly opened a lead. Immaculata would climb back with in one at 5-4. Eastern would use a six-point run in the set to open a 21-9 lead. The Eagles would take the second set by a score of 21-9.

In set three Immaculata would use a four-point run to close the score to 8-7 behind three consecutive service aces from Garrett Pepper. Eastern would hold to close out the match taking set three by a score of 25-14.

The Immaculata men’s volleyball team will be back in action on Saturday, January 21st when the return to Alumnae Hall for their home opener when the host Valley Forge University at 1:00 PM.
