Head coach Eve Rackham Watt announced Wednesday the addition of outside hitter Jenaisya (jen-AYZH-uh) Moore. A transfer from Ohio State, Moore will join the program in the summer and compete in the fall as a graduate student.
“We are so excited to announce the addition of Jenaisya Moore to our Lady Vols volleyball program,” Rackham Watt said. “She brings a tremendous amount of experience, something we will undoubtedly rely on next fall. Jenaisya is highly competitive and a terrific offensive player, which we have seen firsthand over the past two seasons. In addition to her being a great athlete, she is an impressive student and will be a positive addition to our team culture. We are looking forward to her joining us this summer and having her finish her career on Rocky Top.”
Playing four seasons with the Buckeyes, Moore tallied 841 career kills for an average of 2.98 kills per set. In 2022, she set a career-high with 362 kills and hit a career-best .249. She added 45 total blocks last season – the highest block total of her career.
Hailing from Germantown, Maryland, she appeared in all 118 sets for OSU in 2022 and has played 282 sets for the Buckeyes throughout her career.
Moore helped guide OSU to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including a run to the regional final this past season. In four tournament matches in 2022, she put down 43 kills.
No stranger to the Lady Vols, Moore and Ohio State faced off against UT in the 2021 NCAA Tournament and again last season in a neutral site meeting at Pittsburgh. In those two matches, she notched 15 kills and picked up a block assist.
A two-time Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete, Moore was named to the 2019 Big Ten All-Freshman Team after racking up 269 kills as a rookie.
Prior to Ohio State, Moore graduated from Northwest High School where she helped lead the Jaguars to four straight Maryland Class 4A State Championships. She was also named the Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year three times.
Moore played club ball for Metro Volleyball Club of D.C.
