Baoding, China, January 5, 2023 – In-form Beijing successfully defended their Chinese Men’s Volleyball Super League title by taking the second consecutive win over Shanghai in the best-of-three finals here on Thursday.

It’s the fourth league championship for Beijing.

After a tough win of 25-23, 16-25, 28-26, 26-24 in the opener, Beijing met little challenge in the second match as they breezed to a straight-set victory of 25-12, 25-18, 25-21.

During the first two sets, Shanghai didn’t make much trouble for Beijing but once led the third set before Beijing bounced back with powerful serves.

Spiker Hernandez Yosvany and middle blocker Maxwell Holt both got a game-high 15 points for Beijing, while Giulio Sabbi led Shanghai with 14 points.

The season’s bronze medal went to Zhejiang.
