Chitty, Humphrey & Williams Selected For U.S Women's National Team Open Program

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Rutgers volleyball’s Madyson Chitty, Taylor Humphrey and Rikki Williams have been selected for the U.S. Women’s National Team Open Program.

The Women’s National Team Open Program is used for consideration for selection to both the U.S. Women’s National Team and the U.S. Women’s Collegiate National Team. The three Scarlet Knights were among the 28 student-athletes from the Big Ten selected to participate.

Chitty, who enters her senior year in the fall of 2023, has been a mainstay of the Scarlet Knight defense the last three seasons. She currently ranks fourth in career digs per set and sixth in total career digs in the rally era “On The Banks”.  A sports management major, Chitty is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and was this past season’s Big Ten Sportsmanship honoree.

Humphrey, a rising sophomore outside hitter, averaged 2.57 kills per set in her first season at Rutgers and currently ranks fifth among rally-era Scarlet Knights in the category. She was named to the College of Charleston Classic All-Tournament Team after she tied for the most kills in a three-set match in the program’s rally-era history.

Williams joined the Scarlet Knights this semester after transferring from Penn State. The setter was among VolleyballMag.com’s Fabulous 50 in 2021 and totaled 303 kills, 149 blocks, 40 aces and held a .383 hitting percentage during her scholastic career at Kingwood Park in Houston, Texas.
