EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon volleyball team, the No. xx national seed, will start its NCAA Tournament run Friday night against Loyola Marymount at 7 p.m. inside Matthew Knight Arena. The Ducks were chosen as one of 16 hosts when the 64-team bracket was revealed Sunday on the NCAA Selection Show.

“It’s a source of pride for our group,” head coach Matt Ulmer said. “You put in a lot of work and try to get better every day. I always love when people get rewarded for their hard work and I think our group has done things the right way. We get a chance to be home for two more matches—one given—for the weekend and that’s real exciting. The group is ready for it.”

This will mark the sixth time for Oregon to host the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Ducks also welcome Arkansas and Utah State to Eugene.

Oregon finished the 2022 regular season with a 23-5 overall record including a 17-3 mark in Pac-12 play. The Ducks’ 17 conference wins are a program record, surpassing the 2012 national runner-up team that was 16-4 in league play. Oregon, 12-0 on its home floor this season, enter the NCAA Tournament having won 13 matches in a row.

Sunday’s selection marks the Ducks’ fifth trip to the NCAA Tournament under head coach Matt Ulmer who led the team to an Elite 8 appearance in 2018—the last time UO hosted—and a trip to the Sweet 16 during the 2021 spring season. The program will be making its 19th overall NCAA appearance.

All-session tickets are currently available (click HERE), and single-session tickets will be made available later this week.

Oregon faced nine NCAA Tournament teams during the recently completed regular season, and is one of six teams from the Pac-12—Colorado, Stanford, USC, Washington and Washington State—in the field.
