CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Graduate student Janice Leao and fifth-year senior Savannah Vach have been named to the 2023 Preseason All-ACC Team, the conference announced Thursday morning.
A dynamic duo in both offense and defense, the two Hurricanes look to continue their historic careers as the season approaches.
Last season, Vach started in all 30 matches for the Hurricanes, totaling 1159 assists with 10.26 assists per set average, a figure that ranked third in the conference.
The 2022 season was impressive for Leao as well. The New Bedford, Massachusetts native led the team with 98.5 total blocks with a blocks-per-set average, started in all 30 matches, and registered 259 kills and 356.5 points.
Additionally, the conference released its 2023 Preseason Coaches Poll, where Miami was picked to finish third in the conference behind Pittsburgh and Louisville.
The Hurricanes start the regular season in Coral Gables on August 25 against Maryland in the Canes Classic.
