Lewis Men’s Volleyball Set for a Pair of Road Matches This Weekend

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis men’s volleyball team is set to compete in a pair of matches this week against McKendree and the other at Maryville. Be sure to catch all the action Friday and Saturday.

Series History vs McKendree

Lewis leads the all-time series 13-4 against McKendree. In their most recent meeting on March 19, 2022, Lewis narrowly lost 3-2.John Davis (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central), Kevin Kauling(Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley), and Jason Gibbs (Bellaire, Texas/Bellaire) led the Flyers’ attack. Davis capitalized on 13 kills, Kauling recorded 31 assists, and Gibbs had 17 digs. 

Series History vs. Maryville

Lewis leads the all-time series 2-0 against Maryville. In their most recent match on January 28, 2023, Lewis came out on top 3-0.Daniel Haber (Remsenburg, N.Y./Westhampton Beach), SyverDrolsum (Vikersun, Norway/Toppvolley Norge), and Kauling led the attack for the Flyers. Haber and Drolsum combined for 21 kills; meanwhile, Kauling recorded 30 assists. 

Last Week in Review

Lewis lost both games last week when they fell short 3-1 to both Loyola and Purdue Fort Wayne. The attack was led by Christian Prayer (St. Louis, Mo/Parkway North), Max Roquet (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston), and Haber when they combined for 58 kills over the two-game span. Tyler Morgan (Dike, Iowa/New Hartford) helpedthe effort, securing 57 assists over the two-game span.
