The Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Men’s pool in Manila, Philippines, held from 18-23 June, attracted a massive turnout of 45,886 fans eager to witness world-class volleyball, an exciting sign of what is to come for the upcoming FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2025 in the country.
The event was marked by excellent organisation and hospitality, which allowed the action on the court to take centre stage. As the tournament unfolded, fan excitement and engagement visibly grew. The highest attendance was recorded on the final day, peaking at 93.82% with 12,497 tickets sold, as fans packed the SM Mall of Asia Arena to watch an electrifying lineup of matchups which included Japan taking on the USA (3-0), France battling it out against Brazil (3-2) and Germany facing Iran (3-0).
The average attendance across the six days of competition was impressive at approximately 85.50%. Overall, the VNL Men’s pool in the Philippines successfully captivated fans, providing a dynamic and engaging experience.
Attending the event was the FIVB Board of Administration Member Zdeslav Barač who praised the Philippines for its seamless organisation of the event, stating:
“The VNL Men’s pool in the Philippines exceeded my expectations. The organisation was excellent and there were many highly enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers and staff who were always smiling, friendly and attentive. In my opinion and experience, this is one of the best ever organised FIVB events.”
Looking ahead, the Philippines is poised to host the global volleyball community for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2025, promising another spectacular event following this highly successful VNL showcase.
