LOS ANGELES – No. 4 seed Stanford fell to No. 2 seed Grand Canyon, 15-25, 26-24, 25-27, 17-25, in the semifinals of the MPSF Tournament, Thursday, at the Galen Center.

Stanford hit .283 as a team and finished with 54 kills, 38 digs, 7.5 blocks and two aces. Grand Canyon (24-4) hit .360 and totaled 54 kills, 40 digs, 13.0 blocks and five aces.

Fifth-year Will Rottman led Stanford with his third straight double-double, posting 20 kills on .364 hitting and 11 digs.

Opposite Theo Snoey also turned in a double-double with 11 kills on a .400 attack percentage and a match-high 12 digs.

Setter Nathan Lietzke finished with 47 assists, four digs and two blocks. Libero Luke Turner finished with three digs and three assists.

Outside hitter Kevin Lamp registered nine kills, five digs, two aces and two blocks. Middle blocker Nathaniel Gates had seven kills and three blocks, while middle blocker Ethan Hill recorded six kills on .556 hitting, five blocks and two digs.

Grand Canyon was led by Camden Gianni’s 17 kills on .469 hitting, 10 digs and three aces.

Stanford finishes the season 14-12 overall.
