Oskaloosa–The William Penn men’s volleyball team concluded its record-breaking campaign as one of the best in the country as the NAIA released its postseason top-15 poll Wednesday.

William Penn (23-9) dropped three spots from its previous position to #9 with 123 points.  The Statesmen won eight times over programs either ranked or receiving votes at the end of the year, headlined by defeating national champion Grand View back on February 8.  WPU also dropped national semifinalist Park twice as it competed in just its third season.

William Penn is one of six Heart of America Athletic Conference programs in the poll with Grand View at #1.  Park is #3, Missouri Baptist is #14, while Mount Mercy (unofficially 17th) and Missouri Valley (unofficially 20th) are in the receiving votes group as well.

The 2022 season was one of many firsts for the program, including the first time being ranked, beating a ranked team, winning a Heart Tournament match, reaching the Heart Finals, and qualifying for the NAIA National Championship.

Grand View owns all 11 first-place votes (191 points), while national runner-up Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.) is second.  Park, Campbellsville (Ky.), and Ottawa (Ariz.) round out the top five.
