USC's Simon Gallas Named To AVCA Men's Volleyball All-American Second Team

LOS ANGELES–USC redshirt junior opposite hitter Simon Gallas was named to the 2022 All-American second team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Graduate outside hitter Sam Kobrine, senior setter Chris Hall and junior middle blocker Lucas Frassrand earned 2022 AVCA All-American honorable mention.
 
Gallas, a 2022 All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation first teamer, had a team-best 453 kills while hitting .353 in 2022 and also had 140 digs, 59 blocks and 31 aces.  
 
Kobrine, a 2022 All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation second teamer, recorded 386 kills while hitting .315 this season and also has 126 digs, 46 blocks and a team-best 36 aces.

Hall, a four-year starter for the Trojans and an All-MPSF second teamer, tops the MPSF in assists per set with 11.40, and  second nationally. He has collected 1220 assists this year and also has 197 digs, 50 blocks and 17 aces.

Middle blocker Frassrand, a fellow All-MPSF second teamer, tallied 182 kills this season, 82 blocks, 39 digs and 14 aces. 

These four Trojans helped USC to a 22-7 season in 2022. The Trojans finished second in the MPSF standings and fell in the semifinals of the MPSF Tournament to Pepperdine, who went on to win the tournament.
