Huskies Sweep Tigers Twice in Doubleheader


Stockton, Calif —-The The Beach Dawgs opened their final regular season week of action with a sweep of the University of Pacific 5-0 in both duals of their doubleheader. The Huskies are now 18-11 on the season.

 

Noon Dual

The Huskies quickly dispatched the Tigers during the first dual of the doubleheader. The Huskies started fast with all five pairs taking down their Pacific counterparts in the two sets.

 

Zoey Henson and Lauren Wilcock (No. 1) won each set by at least 11 points, extending their winning streak to ten duals. Henson is also on a 14-dual winning streak individually, and she now sits alone in fourth all-time for most dual wins in a single season by a Husky, with 21.

 

In both of their sets, Magdalena Rabitsch and Piper Monk-Heidrich (No. 2) held Pacific to single digits.  

 

When it was their turn, Josie Ulrich and Brooke Balue (No. 4) dominated from the jump, winning the first set by 13. The duo brought home the dual victory as they held Pacific to only seven points in the dual-winning second set.

 

Sealing the sweep, Kendall Mather and Scarlett Dahl (No. 3) Sarah Wilcock and Audra Wilmes (No. 5) both posted 21-6 wins in their first set and then won the final set by at least ten points.

 

2:00 PM Dual

The Huskies faced a tougher battle in the second dual. The Pacific Tigers found their offensive rhythm and kept some of the matches closer. However, the opposition came up short, and the Huskies posted their second sweep of the afternoon. All of the Beach Dawg pairs won in two sets for the second straight dual.

 

Dahl and Mather (No. 3) along with Sarah Wilcock and Brooke Balue (No. 5) posted double-digit wins in their sweeps. Dahl is now third all-time on the all individual dual win record book with her 58th win.

 

Zoey Henson and Lauren Wilcock (No. 2) extended their winning streaks to 11 straight, and Henson won her 15th straight as well. Willock is now tied for 5th most dual wins in a single season with 19.

 

Ulrich and Wilmes (No. 4) and Monk-Hedrich and Rabsitch (No. 1) faced some closer sets but still pulled ahead in two sets to complete the second sweep of the day. Rabitsch is now tied for 5th most dual wins in a single season with 19.
