Indiana Volleyball Welcomes Spencer McLachlin and Rachel Morris

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Volleyball Head Coach Steve Aird announced the addition of Spencer McLachlin as associate head coach and Rachel Morris as an assistant coach on Monday morning.

“I am very excited to announce the addition of Spencer and Rachel to our staff.” Aird said. “Their range of experience and proven skills in the game will enhance our program across the board.  They believe in our programs vision for the future, and I know they are excited to get to work.”

McLachlin comes to the Hoosiers after spending the last four seasons as an assistant coach for the UCLA Men’s Volleyball program.

“I am incredibly honored and excited to become a Hoosier,” McLachlin said. “I’d like to first thank Coach Aird for his vision and his dedication to making Indiana volleyball great. Scott Dolson and Mattie White‘s support of the program were instrumental in my decision making process and for that, I’m grateful. Finally, I’d like to thank my wife Diane for allowing me to pursue my passion of coaching at the highest level. I look forward to getting in the gym and getting to work with the great athletes and staff Coach Aird has assembled. Coach Aird is building something special at Indiana and I look forward to doing whatever it takes to get the Hoosiers to the next level.”

Currently ranked as the No. 2 team in the country, McLachlin has helped coach the Bruins to a record of 7-2 so far this season. Since arriving to UCLA in 2019, he has compiled a record of 51-26 as an assistant coach.

This past offseason, McLachlin added international experience with U.S. Men’s Volleyball where he worked on coaching staffs that competed in the Pan American Cup and NORCECA Champions cup.
