SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Union College will host its annual giving challenge, ADay4U, on Tuesday, April 16 and Wednesday, April 17, when students, alumni, friends, parents and staff come together for 1,795 minutes of celebrating and supporting Union!
Gifts to the Department of Athletics on ADay4U help to supplement team budgets and assist in providing the best experience possible for our nearly 600 student-athletes, including upgraded and expanded travel, additional team apparel, supplemental technology equipment, and more. Current Athletics Challenges:
Women’s Athletics Fund: Don Lehmann ’66 will match all gifts to the Women’s Athletics Fund 2:1, up to $50,000.
Baseball: 80 donors to the baseball team will unlock $8,000 from John Busterud ’76.
Women’s Basketball: All gifts to the women’s basketball team will be matched (up to $5,000) by a Union Basketball family.
Football: 225 donors to the football team will unlock $10,000 from Keith ’95 and Nicole ’94 Lombardo.
Men’s Hockey: All gifts to the men’s hockey team will be matched (up to $50,000) by Mort Silver ’55.
Men’s Lacrosse: 220 donors to the men’s lacrosse team will unlock $10,000 from John Keller ’91.
Women’s Lacrosse: 100 donors to the women’s lacrosse team will unlock $1,000 from Keri (Messa) Foley ’98.
Men’s and Women’s Tennis: All gifts to the tennis teams will be matched (up to $5,000) by Friends of Union Tennis.
Men’s and Women’s Track & Field: All gifts to the track & field teams will be matched (up to $5,000) by Christopher Strohsahl ’01.
Current College Challenges:
Class of 1987: 30 donors from the Class of 1987 will unlock $10,000 from Jeff Zorn ’87, P’17.
Class of 1989: 24 donors from the Class of 1989 will unlock $3,000 from Hilary Plattus ’89.
First-Time Donors: 50 first-time donors will unclock $1,500 from the Alumni Council.
500 Donors: 500 donors will unlock $15,000 from Trustee David Breazzano ’78 and Denise Breazzano.
1,000 Donors: 1,000 donors will unlock $20,000 from Trustee David Breazzano ’78 and Denise Breazzano.
